JDR’s Hartlepool team has successfully completed the termination phase and is now preparing for the loadout of a thermoplastic umbilical that will play a crucial role in supporting the security of our energy supplies. The umbilical spans a total distance of 23 kilometers, is divided into two lengths, and has been specifically designed to cater to the offshore conventional gas fields situated in quads A and B of the Netherlands. These gas fields are located in relatively shallow waters, with a depth of 115 feet.
In addition to the umbilical itself, JDR takes responsibility for engineering, designing, and manufacturing topside umbilical termination unit pull-in heads, hang-off bodies, and umbilical termination assemblies. These components are essential for ensuring the successful installation and connection of the umbilical to the offshore facilities.
The completion of this project holds immense significance for Europe’s natural gas supply. With the region striving to meet the high demand for natural gas, the inclusion of these offshore gas fields and the infrastructure provided by JDR will make a substantial contribution to securing our energy supplies in the region.
