JDR is delighted to share some substantial milestones reached at our Cambois, near Blyth, Northumberland site. Our cutting-edge High Voltage Subsea Cable Manufacturing facility in Cambois, near Blyth, is rapidly taking shape, marked by the meticulous placement of building pad foundations, as well as some foundations which have been repurposed from those of the former power station. The piling and foundation phase has advanced swiftly, making significant milestones at the Vertical Lay-up Machine (VLM) and at the Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) Tower locations.
Machinery deliveries for our new facility are progressing well with some of the complex high quality European manufactured machines already completed. These tailor-made baskets are designed to accommodate very long lengths of insulated power conductor cores within the VLM system. A substantial part of the main hall steel frame has now been installed, working along the pad foundation and grid lines, to provide the facility’s structural integrity. This exciting progress sets the stage for the next crucial milestones, and we eagerly anticipate the project’s continued development.
