This November, we celebrate three decades of innovation at JDR Cable Systems, tracing our journey from designing industrial hoses in 1966 to becoming a leader in subsea cable and umbilical technology for the global energy market. Our story, inspired by visionaries like Mr Peter Jacques, began with pioneering umbilical systems and evolved through landmark projects that firmly established us in offshore wind. Our talented team of engineers, designers, and STEM professionals has driven every step, advancing subsea technology while inspiring future generations to pursue careers in STEM. This dedication to excellence is evident in our Think Safety and Think Quality initiatives, which set industry standards for quality and operational efficiency. Joining TELE-FONIKA Kable (TFKable Group) in 2017 marked an exciting new chapter, expanding our capabilities and reinforcing our Vision 2020 initiative to lead in both traditional and renewable energy sectors. Over the years, JDR has expanded globally, from Littleport, Hartlepool, and Houston (Tomball) in Texas, and now to Macaé, Brazil. Our manufacturing facilities and service centres stand as milestones in our commitment to the offshore industry, with advanced technologies that continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in subsea power cable and umbilical production. With the upcoming opening of our new facility for high-voltage subsea and land cables in Cambois, near Blyth, Northumberland, we proudly support the transition to a net-zero future.
